چکیده

Introduction Hodge and Mitchell (1998) demonstrated that atmospheric humidity and the water content of the resource could afect the interaction between D. melanogaster and D. hydei in single generation laboratory experients. Previously, Arur (1986) had shown that the interaction between these two species in continuous cultue could be affected by the amount of resource, the mechanism of this effect being lined to smaller quantities of resource having relatively greater sudace area to volume ratios and therefore being more prone to desiccation. Thus, the hydrological aspects of the environment appear to have an importt role in determining how these fles interact. The aim of this series of experiments was to furter examine the effect of relative humidity on the interaction between D. hydei and D. melanogaster under conditions of continuous culture. In order to examine how general the effect of humidity is in affecting population pedormance and interactive outcomes, two different strains of D. melanogaster have been used.

Effect of Genetic Group, Season, Their Interaction, Temperature, Humidity and Temperature-Humidity Index on Maintenance Behavior of Stud Bulls

Stud bull plays an important role in the development of animal husbandry. Detailed knowledge about maintenance behavior of stud bulls is essential for practicing better management conditions in the farm to support the artificial insemination (AI) industry demand. Therefore, a comparative study was conducted on stud bulls to evaluate the effect of genetic group, season, genetic group × season in...

Monitoring of dust phenomenon and Investigate its correlation with temperature and humidity parameters‌ (Case study: Khuzestan Province)

Dust is a phenomenon in arid and semi-arid areas due to high wind speeds on the un-polluted soil surface and prone to erosion. The occurrence of dust has always been a problem for residents in the western and southwestern regions of the country, has gradually spread to other provinces, including the capital. The study area is southwest of Iran, Khuzestan province. The latitude and longitude of ...

The Effect of Percentage of Remaining Hair Bred and Ambient Relative Humidity on Electrical Resistance of Cashmere Fiber

Among different types of controlling systems, the ON/OFF digital relative humidity control was used for measuring electrical properties of cashmere fibers to make the ambient relative humidity fixed. To achieve this goal the required hardware and software were designed and fabricated. The electrical resistance of fine and coarse hair cashmere fiber was measured by charge and discharge condenser...
